Tanjil Place Medical services the town of Moe which has a population of approximately 17,000 and the practice also attracts patients from outlying communities. The town is in the heart of Latrobe Valley, which is 1.5 hours drive or direct train journey from the Melbourne CBD. The town lies between the ranges of Mt BawBaw and Gwinnear, and the hills of the Strzelecki ranges. Skiing, mountain walking and the beach, are all within one hours drive.

The Clinc

Tanjil Place Medical was established in 1994 and moved to its current premises in 2007 which is in the centre of the town. We have 13 consulting rooms and a treatment area which includes a resuscitation room, a purpose fitted room for minor surgical procedures and 2 separate treatment cubicles.  We are co-located with Latrobe Pathology's Gippsland Laboratory, and Regional Imaging. The clinic is accredited with AGPAL.

We have 11 full-time and part-time GP's with a variety of special interests including Chronic disease management, Aged care, Palliative Care, Sports medicine, Women's health and skin cancer surveillance and treatment. Visiting specialists include physicians, a paediatrician and a surgeon. Allied Health practitioners who consult here include a physiotherapist, podiatrists, psychologists and an asthma nurse. We employ our own accredited diabetes educator.  The medical staff are fully supported by practice nurses, who not only staff the treatment room, but also help with chronic disease management clinics and women's health.

We aim to provide evidence based patient centered medical care.

The clinic is fully computerised using Best Practice software.

Hours of Work

Surgery hours are Monday to Friday  8.30 - 5.30, Saturday 9 -11.

Tanjil Place Medical is part of the on call roster for the Moe After Hours Medical Service and the registrar is expected to be part of that roster.
