A minimum of two reception staff and one Div 1 registered nurse are on duty each day. Nursing staff are accredited immunisation providers, participate in recall systems, procedures and conduct health checks. Yarram is located 220 kilometres south east of Melbourne on the South Gippsland Highway in rural Victoria and a forty-five minute drive to either Traralgon or Sale. The township of Yarram, which is the principal service centre of the area, is located in the Shire of Wellington and services an area of approximately 1840 sq. km. The Yarram District accommodates a number of schools in the area and all are happy to welcome new families to the community. They comprise three primary schools and a secondary college, with buses between Yarram and Sale to accommodate students who attend Gippsland Grammar. |

Yarram Medical Centre was extensively remodelled, extended and refurbished in January 2001 and features seven consulting rooms and modern procedure areas with purpose built areas for dentist and optometry. The practice is fully computerised including recall systems. The practice is onsite with Yarram and District Health Service, ensuring close liaison with the Acute and Primary Care Divisions. |

Yarram Medical Centre is managed in a joint venture by Testro Medical Group and the Yarram and District Health Service. The centre is AGPAL accredited and provides medical cover to approximately 6,500 people living within the SLA of Alberton. The clinic has a visiting dental, optometry and echocardiography service in addition to a visiting surgeon. The YMC practice along with another single GP practice in Yarram provides a 24 hour medical service to the community, including inpatient and emergency care through Yarram and District Health Service. PhilosophyThe doctors and practice staff at Yarram Medical Centre are committed to delivering high quality medical care to individuals and families of the Yarram and district community. Procedures include (but not exclusive to): small surgical procedures (lumps and bumps), pap smears, patient education, health promotion, lung clinic, Chronic Disease Management, immunisations, Health checks, plasters and ECGs. Our aim is to assist our patients to attain and maintain the highest level of health by providing the best possible medical care. Yarram Medical Centre is located on Yarram and District Health Service (YDHS) main campus. It's affiliation with YDHS ensures full access to a comprehensive range of services, many of which are located adjacent to the Medical Centre. These include a Physio and Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology services and a visiting dietician. Welfare, counselling, community nursing and maternal and child care services are also located at YDHS. See Campus Map for details. Visiting ServicesVisiting specialists include: A surgeon and a physician who attend Yarram Medical Centre fortnightly, a psychologist weekly and an optometrist monthly. The clinic also provides a women's health clinic supported by the Royal Flying Doctors Service on a bi monthly basis. A visiting dentist is available one day per week and echocardiograms services are provided monthly. |

Yarram Medical Centre is open Monday to Friday's 9am -5.30pm Weekends and public holidays are covered by an on call roster shared between the two medical practices in Yarram. |

The Medical Centre is an accredited SGPT registrar training practice and as such is keen to see that this program is successful. Registrar teaching time is allocated in the schedule each week and staff are aware of the support required to make this an enjoyable term for the registrar, supervisors and staff. A choice of accommodation is available with both a 2 bedroom unit and a 4 bedroom home set in large grounds both situated close to the town and approximately 3 minutes walk from the Medical Centre and Yarram & District Health Service. |
