Geography & Lifestyle |
The population of Warragul is over 10,000, not including the many surrounding towns in the area. Warragul and district has a very high growth rate. It has a variety of private and public schools and a TAFE campus. We have good recreation and sporting facilities, excellent quality farming and friendly, helpful local business owners. Warragul is approximately 100kms east of Melbourne. We are known for our location, an hour away from the city, beaches, snow, rain forest and bushland. We are virtually central to Traralgon/Churchill and Melbourne. The local community is friendly and the town is convenient. We have a good range of medical services. We are very proud of the progress our city and community is making. |
Building |
Our clinic is a well-equipped, spacious building. It includes seven consultation rooms, a nurse's office, practice manager's office, treatment room with a bed, a large tearoom/boardroom, reception area, waiting room, and a separate children's play room. It is within the CBD, in the main medical precinct, close to ample parking, Medicare, pharmacies, x-ray and other medical services. We are approximately 5 minutes drive from the West Gippsland Hospital. On site pathology is available. |
Clinical |
We believe our practice provides a high level of care. The clinic is fully accredited with AGPAL. We support medical students, have excellent reception and nursing staff, as well as facilities to match. We maintain a good relationship with nursing staff from the hospital and aged care services, and excellent relationships with local specialists both professionally and socially. We are computerised, with a user friendly software program. It incorporates prescription printing, automatic downloading of pathology and x-ray results, and all correspondence is scanned into our patient records. |
Hours / After Hours |
We are open 8.30 to 6 pm Monday to Friday 7 days a week and offer an out of hours service for our patients. The doctor on call for the weekend, has an urgent Saturday morning clinic for our patients who attend regularly, with another urgent clinic on Sunday morning. We have a rotating roster, working one in seven weekends. We also provide aged care service and home visits for our patients. |
Registrar Conditions |
The clinic prefers to train subsequent (GPT3/GPT4) registrars. Conditions are as according to the SGPT agreement, but can be individually negotiated at interview. |
