The busy town of Mirboo North, population 2518, situated on a high point of the Grand Ridge Road one of Victoria's most spectacular drives in the Strzelecki Ranges looks down on stunningly beautiful rolling green hills. One hour south is Wilson's Promontory National Park, with excellent coastal beaches and popular fishing spots both river and ocean. One hour to the north is the beautiful Thomson River valley, the historic gold mining town of Walhalla and the popular cross country skiing destination Mount St Gwinear. One of the most historic and picturesque townships in the region, Mirboo North is a service town offering the best of country living. Decorating the town are works of an artist who has captured the bygone era with bullock drays and street scenes painted on shop walls. Mirboo North has pre-school, primary and secondary schools. Monash University Gippsland is only half an hour away at Churchill. The town and district has good sporting facilities including a golf course and is close to the larger towns of Morwell, Leongatha and Trafalgar to easily access their commercial, shopping and cultural precincts.
