The practice operates in purpose built rooms. It is fully accredited and computerised. |
Clinical |
|
Neerim South Medical Centre is run by Dr Steve Jedynak and Dr Liz Fitzgerald, a husband and wife partnership. They provide medical services for Neerim District Soldiers Memorial Hospital (NDSMH) and Nursing Home Annexe and have VMO rights at the West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul. NDSMH is a private community hospital consisting of nine acute private inpatient beds, six bed day surgical units, two interim care beds and a thirty-bed nursing home. The hospital has a modern operating suite for a wide range of elective surgery with specialist services including regular cataract surgery. The registrar will be involved in all areas of operation of the practice including clinical sessions, home visits, on call roster, hospital care in Neerim South and Warragul and Aged Care in various facilities in the district. The practice provides full clinical backup for registrars and there is readily accessible specialist support in Warragul. Neerim South Medical Clinic is a busy family medical practice with a stable growing population base. The philosophy of the general practice is the provision of comprehensive family care and a commitment to medical education. The practice operates a vertical integration model where the registrar is also involved in teaching and mentoring students from years one to six. The registrar will gain tremendous experience from living and working within the community, with a wide range of patient problems in a rural context. The registrar is an integral accepted member of the team with the opportunity to form his/her own patient base. |
Hours / After Hours |
|
The clinic operates from 9am to 5pm weekdays and a Saturday morning clinic from 9am to 1pm. The doctors provide after-hours cover for the clinic patients and inpatients at the various hospitals and aged care facilities. The roster is shared. It is an essential but not intrusive commitment. |
Registrar Conditions |
| The registrar is accommodated in a 2 bedroom fully furnished unit in the township within walking distance of the practice and hospital. Full school education and childcare facilities are available in the town. |
