The population of Moe is 17,000. It is about an hour from Melbourne in the Latrobe Valley near Wilson's Promontory and the Baw Baw Plateau, where winter skiing is available. Moe is a mixture of rural and industrial. The surrounding area is mainly dairy and potato farming. Moe has a range of sporting facilities and there are local theatres at Warragul and Traralgon. |

The Moe Medical Group is a very busy general practice with over 3,000 patients per month. There is a wide variety from chronic review to acute emergency. Moe has a nursing home and two elderly care hostels. The practice has many patients in these institutions and the GP Registrar is encouraged to attend and visit on an ongoing basis. Home visits to patients will be arranged in consultation with the GP registrar and the practice nurse. Our nurses help with all minor operations, perform ECGs, regular dressings and routine tests for medicals etc. |

We operate a Saturday morning clinic. There is a one in four roster. Moe Medical Group shares an on-call roster with other doctors in the town. Part of the on-call duty involves helping to cover the Moe After-Hours Medical Service. It is about a one in ten roster and therefore a registrar would average only one in ten weekends. |
