Irish Exchange Program
SGPT has instigated an exchange program with the Donegal Training Program in Ireland.
This exchange provides the opportunity to undertake a three-month placement in Ireland as part of the GP training program. It is available to rural registrars who have completed a year of general practice training terms. It is an ideal way of gaining an insight into the medical profession outside your own country and there is the opportunity to extend your stay to work in or explore other parts of Ireland.
The placement is recognised by the RACGP and will be credited toward your training time.
SGPT covers the cost of flights and medical registration in Ireland. Free accommodation and the use of a vehicle are also available.
